Service Description

Low-Cost Tapering Support — Intake appointment at $5 USD/hour I reserve a small number of support hours each week for people living in countries where my normal rate is far beyond the average daily or weekly income. This option is intended for people who genuinely need help tapering psychiatric medications but cannot realistically afford standard Australian-based support fees. My normal rate is already very low compared with most private consultation services in Australia, but I understand that even a low Australian rate can still be impossible for many people around the world. The low-cost rate is $5 USD per hour and is mainly available to people living in low-income or lower-middle-income countries. This may include people from countries such as: South Asia: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka Africa: Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Rwanda, Sudan Middle East and conflict-affected regions: Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia Latin America and the Caribbean: Haiti, Nicaragua, Honduras, Bolivia, Venezuela This is not an automatic entitlement, and places are limited. The purpose is to make support available to people who would otherwise have no realistic access to careful, personalised tapering guidance. These sessions may include help with: understanding psychiatric drug withdrawal planning a slow, careful taper using percentage-based or exponential tapering principles discussing dose reductions, holds, and symptom patterns using the GTT app to calculate and track tapering steps preparing questions for your doctor or prescriber emotional and practical support from someone with lived experience The GTT app is included for free for people using this low-cost support option. Because these places are very limited, I ask that people only request the $5/hour rate if they genuinely cannot afford my normal fee.
