PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATION TAPERING · PEER SUPPORT
Professional, individualised support for coming off psychiatric drugs - Benzos, Antidepressnats, Z-drugs and low dose anti-psychotics.
I’m Guy Rotenberg, a qualified mental health peer support worker. I had to learn the hard way that many doctors and NPs simply don't know how to taper their patients off psychiatric drugs. Now I help others get the help I never got, and save them from harm resulting from this gap of knowlwedge.
I bring lived experience of benzo and SSRI withdrawal, REAL research and practical tools to help you navigate tapering your psychiatric drugs according to the the latest guidelines of proportional/hyperbolic tapering, but at a speed and rate that works FOR YOU.
Whether you’re preparing to taper or already started, working with me will potentially save you from severe withdrawal and will lead to a successful taper.

WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE JOURNEY
A place to start.
Someone to talk things through with.
The support you need can change. We start by understanding your circumstances and the questions you’re carrying.
01 · PREPARING
Thinking about tapering
Understand the process, how to make cuts safely and calculate precisely, what the guidelines ask you to do and why, how to use GTT - my tapering software, and all the supplements, gadgets, psychologial interventions that help (and what to avoid), proper dose prepration and calculation. Get someone to advocate for you - let the prescribing doctor understand the process and cooperate witih you.
02 · DURING A TAPER
Someone holding your hand
Talk through your experience, adjust the speed of the taper as you go to align with how your body reacts, change or add supports as you go, and have someone to advocate for you if things get tough or if withdrawal symptoms are not understood by your clinical care team.
03 · AFTER STOPPING
Building your life again, and healing.
There is space to talk about what you’re experiencing after the last dose, find the things that can potentially replace the pills, and have someone to support you until your body fully heals
WORKING TOGETHER
Start with a conversation.
You can meet me before deciding whether to book an intake appointment.

FIRST · MEET
Free discovery call
A 20-minute video conversation about your situation, the support you’re looking for and whether we would be a good fit.
THEN · UNDERSTAND
Intake & consultation
A two-hour video appointment gives us time for your full history, previous tapering experiences and practical support needs. We work through a personalised tapering approach depending on your drug(s) you want to taper, and Guy’s Tapering Tool is included with your intake, installed and explained in detail to help you log and calculate your cuts precisely. I teach you how to physically measure your dose, supplements that can help you taper safely, and we dedicated at least half an hour for sleep and the many, many ways to preserve it.
ONGOING · SUPPORT
Follow-up conversations
Continue talking things through as your needs change - maybe a side effect is bothering you and we need to see if a support can be added, learn techniques to deal with it, or change the speed of the taper.
Follow-up sessions and WhatsApp chat packages offer different ways to get support between appointments. See the booking page for options and availability.
